ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Government of Pakistan today (Friday) condemned the incident of US drone strike that took place in North Waziristan on Thursday morning.

“As has been made clear on earlier occasions, Pakistan considers such strikes as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Foreign Office stated.

The ministry further said that these strikes have a negative impact on the government’s efforts to bring peace and stability in Pakistan and the region.

Yesterday, missiles from a U.S. drone slammed into a mud house and killed six people in Datta Khel District of North Waziristan.

The site of the strike was about 45 km (28 miles) west of the regional capital of Miranshah, near the Afghan border.

Drone strikes in Pakistan resumed after a six-month hiatus, days before the military launched an air campaign on June 15 to drive Tehreek-e-Taliban militants out of the remote border region of North Waziristan Agency.
