PIA reduces airfare for Umra pilgrims by Rs 6000

Passengers will also enjoy reduction in airfare for domestic travel by Rs 2000.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) unveiled good news for the passengers on Friday including reduction on airfare for Umra pilgrims by Rs 6000 and reduction in domestic airfare by up to Rs 2000, Dunya News reported.
After reduction in oil prices in the global market, PIA announced reduction in airfares for Umra pilgrims and domestic travelers upon direction from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Passengers belonging to Northern Punjab, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will enjoy the reduction in prices. These passengers will only pay Rs 66,000 airfare instead of Rs 72,000.
Umra pilgrimage passengers belonging to Sindh and Balochistan will also enjoy the reduction in airfare by Rs 6000. These passengers will pay Rs 54,000 airfare instead of 60,000.
Passengers will enjoy reduction in airfare for domestic travel by Rs 2000.
After facing years of financial and managerial crises, national flag carrier PIA has now been aiming for the revival of the golden era it once enjoyed.
Other than acquiring new aircraft this year, PIA is now aiming at expanding its market share while increasing customer retention in a bid to revive the same prestige it enjoyed decades ago.
