PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that he doesn’t desire midterm elections, and that no one can derail democracy, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the opening ceremony of a school and media and Doranpur, Khan said that historical rigging was done in May 11 elections.
He said that his party has prepared a white paper based on 2100 pages.
He said that his party will give up on 72 constituencies if their concerns on 4 constituencies are proven wrong.
Imran Khan said that PTI never talked about midterm elections. Answering a question, he said that taking only Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to official trips gives the impression that Pakistan is ruled by a monarchy.
He termed increase in electricity tariff injustice to people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and Education Minister Atif Khan were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Imran Khan said on Tuesday that corruption from the country cannot be eliminated until free and fair elections are held. He said that a movement against those who rigged elections will be launched on May 11, warning that he will expose those involved.
Addressing media, Imran Khan alleged that those who rigged the general election were given chairmanship of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Whoever played role including former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in whatever capacity should be exposed, he said.
PTI Chairman said that no political system other than democracy is successful and that corruption from the country cannot be rooted out unless free and fair elections are held.
Imran Khan reiterated he will expose those who rigged elections on May 11, adding that demonstrators will stay on roads until ‘justice’ is done.
He invited all parties to join the protest on May 11.
