Police interrupts 12-year-old girl's marriage to 50-year-old man
The bride said her sister arranged this marriage to 'wealthy groom'.
NOWSHERO FEROZ (Dunya News) – A twelve-year-old girl was married off to a fifty-year-old man against a sum of one hundred thousand rupees. Police arrested the man and took the girl into protective custody on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
Reportedly, Mohammad Ali Shah, father of 5 children, paid one hundred thousand rupees as bargain for 12-year-old bride.
Police reached the occasion and arrested the groom Mohammad Ali and Nikah registrar. Police also took the bride into protective custody.
In a statement, the bride said her sister arranged this marriage to ‘wealthy groom’.
According to police, the girl was sold off against a hundred thousand rupees. An investigation in this regard has begun.
