High-level meeting discusses regional security

PM Nawaz Sharif chaired meeting in Islamabad to review country's security situation.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - A high level meeting reviewed security situation, talks with Taliban, Afghan Presidential elections and withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan.

The meeting was presided by Prime Minster Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today (Friday).

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister s Special Assistant on National Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Director General ISI Lieutenant General Zaheer-ul-Islam attended the meeting.

Afghan Presidential Elections are scheduled to be held on tomorrow (Saturday).

Earlier, Pakistan announced to maintain strict vigilance on its borders with Afghanistan to avert any untoward situation.
