Restoration of judges must be endorsed through Parliament: PM

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was addressing to the National Assembly. Prime Minster (PM) said that the Parliament is the representative of 170 million people of Pakistan and thus the Parliament is the supreme authority. PM said that the government respect masses. PM said that he would like to request leader of opposition not to draw comparisons between an elected president and a military dictator. The Parliament is answerable to the public. PM argued not to comparing us from Musharraf is an insult to us. The strength of the Parliament could be considered by the fact that all ministers have been appointed through majority instead of corruption. PM said that he always consider the public sentiment and public demands thus he restored the judges. PM also said that he has no personal enmity with Chief Justice. The judiciary was the wolf for Musharraf. PM reminded that when Benazir Bhutto came to Pakistan she said that no more compromise with Musharraf. He said that we have made sacrifices for the restoration of judges in fact our chairperson gave her life for the people of the country and not for office. PM informed that Musharraf warned Benazir Bhutto not to come to Pakistan but she came for the people.We did not come to power through the back door instead we have been elected by the power of the people. NRO was for those who did not compromise.PM also pointed out that parliament is yet to give its endorsement on the restoration of the judges. The judges were reinstated through Executive Order which must be endorsed through the Parliament.No endorsement is required for restoration of judges, says A.K DogarFamous lawyer A.K Dogar speaking to Dunya news said that the PM of a country should not be getting angry and should not try to score points. Constitution has restored the judges not PM. Parliament should not be concern. The constitution is above the Parliament.PM is playing with fire, says Advocate Akram SheikhProminent Advocate Akram Sheikh speaking to Dunya News said that he is amazed as to why does the PM wants to disqualify himself. The executive order is issued by the Administration. Akram Sheikh pointed out that if the Parliament did not endorse the actions November 3 then why would the parliament endorse the restoration of judges. He said that the PM is playing with the fire.
