Tharparkar famine: Five more children die of malnutrition

The army has also setup five medical camps in famine-hit Tharparkar.

THARPARKAR (Web Desk) - At least five more children died of malnutrition and famine in Chachro tehsil of Tharparkar district in Sindh, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

Chachro is among those areas of Tharparkar where the Sindh government hasn’t started relief operation. Dozens of children are admitted to public and private hospitals of the district.

Several prominent members of the Sindh government have visited the famine-hit areas but relief activities are still facing delay due to which the affectees are forced to move to other places.

Meanwhile, Pakistan army and Rangers are reportedly carrying out relief operation in several areas of Tharparkar.

Rangers have so far sent 16 trucks of edible items that will be distributed among 2500 families.

The army has also setup medical camps in famine-hit Tharparkar where medical aid is being provided to affectees.
