Govt committee meeting underway in Islamabad

Govt talks committee will discuss overall situation, Irfan Siddiqui said.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The government dialogue committee s meeting is underway in Islamabad to discuss future course of action after killing of 23 FC personnel in Mohmand Agency by Taliban.
A member of the government committee Rustam Shah Mohmand has said that the dialogue process with Taliban has been affected due to the Mohmand incident.
In an interview‚ he said the dialogue could only be revived if the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban takes some immediate concrete initiatives.
The peace talks are in crisis two weeks after they began following a claim from a TTP faction on Sunday that they had executed 23 soldiers who were kidnapped in June 2010.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called the deaths “heinous” on Monday and warned they would impact attempts at reconciliation, while government peace negotiators pulled out of scheduled talks.
