Gujrat: 14 killed in gunbattle

At least 14 people were killed and seven others injured when two groups engaged in a crossfire at Seria, Gujrat, Dunya News reported on Saturday. According to police, there was an old enmity between Dema and Labo groups and so far several people from both sides fell victim to the rivalry. The gunbattle lasted for several hours which claimed Ziaullah, Waqar Hussain, Contractor Muhammad Arshad, Ishtiaq Anwar, Muhammad Akram, Ikram Anwar, Rizwan Akram, Sajjad Akram, Qamar Shahzad, Muhammad Yasir, Muhammad Akram s/o Ranjha Khan and Muhammad Arshad.The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, while heavy contingents of police cordoned off the area. Several proclaimed offenders were also involved in the incident, police alleged.
