Karachi: Eight suspects including 3 terrorists arrested in Sohrab Goth

Rangers personnel continued targeted action in the city to ensure law and order.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Rangers personnel have arrested at least eight suspects including three terrorists during a targeted operation in Sohrab Goth area of the metropolis, Dunya News reported on Friday.

Around 400 Rangers personnel took part in the targeted action in Nauman Hassan Colony of Sohrab Goth.

Exit and entry points of the area were sealed and door to door search was carried out.

During raids, heavy weapons including rifles, Kalashnikovs and pistols were recovered from suspects’ possession.

On the other hand, a bomb planted outside ANP leader Razaq Buneri’s house was defused.

According to BDS, 2kg explosives were used in the bomb and it was installed with the help of a magnetic device.

Karachi, the country’s largest city, has seen scores of gun attacks against security personnel in recent years, as well as high rates of political and other forms of targeted killings.

In 2013, more than 2,700 people were killed in the city of around 15 million people, with police coming under particular pressure.
