Death toll from Rawalpindi clashes rises to 11

One more dead body was found from the debris of burnt market in Raja Bazar.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - The situation started getting normalize in most areas of the city on Tuesday as private and public institutions and regular vehicular movement was seen on the roads, petrol pumps and CNG stations also opened giving a major relief to motorists.

Meanwhile, partial strike was observed in some areas including Raja Bazar, College Road and Banni Chowk where some people tried forced closure of markets.

However, army deployment and enforcement of section 144 continues in the city.

On the other hand, the local administration has established a bazaar at Committee Chowk to facilitate the residents.
The government has stated estimating losses to the properties during the violent clashes.

Earlier, the Punjab government issued a notification regarding demotion of negligent police officers.

According to notification, RPO Rawalpindi Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh and CPO Rawalpindi Bilal Siddiq Kamiyana were made OSDs.

Both police officers have also been directed to submit report in IG Office.
