SC directs hold LB polls in cantonment boards by Dec 27
The court will restore old local government system if the government failed, SC declared.
(Web Desk) - The Supreme Court has directed to hold local bodies and cantonment boards elections at all cost by 27th of December.
In its interim order today (Tuesday)‚ the court said no more extension can be given in this regard and the court has already extended the deadline many times.
The court directed that local bodies elections must be held on the dates proposed by the concerned provincial governments.
The order says that if the concerned governments failed to hold these elections in the stipulated period‚ the court will restore old local government system.
The court directed the federal government to submit its reply regarding elections in cantonment boards within seven days.
