JI backs proposal of NATO supply suspension

Munawar Hassan says demands the federal government to give deadline for end to drone strikes.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat e Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has said if the US does not meet our demands, the supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan should be suspended for indefinite period.
In this way, the US establishment would be bound to take the demands made by the government of Pakistan seriously.
While addressing National Labour Federation at party headquarters Mansoora, he said that the government of Pakistan should use the option of suspension of the NATO supply to Afghanistan. In this way, the US and its allied forces would have to surrender before Pakistan that has been playing the role of frontline state in war on terror for more than 20 years intermittently.
He said that there should be clear-cut progress in the dialogue for peace with Taliban. The interior minister’s communication with political parties is of no use, said JI chief.
He predicted that the PML-N is rapidly losing its worth; it seems that the government would no more survive.
He also said that privatization of national institutions is also an inappropriate decision which can cause irreparable loss to the national economy.
While commenting the socio-political situation in the country, he said that the PML-N and PPP are sides of the same coin and unscrupulously have been providing soft corner to each other particularly in hard times.
