KP drops diplomatic enclave project
Project dropped due to non-availability of funds and lack of interest of foreign departments.
PESHAWAR (Online) - Project of establishing of diplomatic enclave for the security of foreign diplomats and NGOs in the city has been terminated due to non-availability of funds and lack of interest of foreign departments.
Details said, former government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) keeping the situation of law and order of province under eye had decided to shift all offices of foreign embassies and N.G.Os to a one place.
It was decided to build the diplomatic enclave following the model of Islamabad diplomatic enclave and for this purpose two spots were also indicated.
However, after the termination of former government this matter has also gone under shelves. Foreign ambassadors had also showed their interest for the construction of diplomatic enclave.
But now, this matter has been delayed due to lack of interest of foreign embassies and non-availability of funds by provincial government.
