The apex court set September 13 as the deadline for government to appoint new NAB chairman.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court’s deadline for appointment of National Accountability Bureau chief will expire today (Friday).

However, the government and opposition could not reach consensus over the matter.

On September 5, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that non-appointment of the NAB chief will create complications and ordered the government to appoint the chairman till September 13.

The same day, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad to discuss the matter.
