Key accused in Chilas tragedy held

Two other accused involved in the criminal activity had already been arrested.
DIA MIR (Dunya News): The prime accused Hamidullah involved in the killing of Pakistan Army officers in Chilas last month has been arrested from Kohistan, police revealed on Thursday.
According to the police, accused Hamidullah was arrested from Kohistan who was involved in the killing of two Army officers and a policeman - Colonel Ghulam Mustafa, Captain Ashfaq and SSP Diamer Hilal Ahmed on August 6.
Police, on Thursday, had also arrested the mastermind behind the killings of ten foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat base camp in Diamer and three security officers in Chilas.
Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan had told that one of the accused was the former Ameer (chief) of banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan Chilas chapter.
It is worthy of note that terrorists had killed 10 foreign and one Pakistani tourist on June 30 in Diamer on the Nanga Parbat Base Camp.
Few days later, terrorists also killed Pakistan Army officers, Colonel Ghulam Mustafa and Captain Ashfaq along with SSP Diamer Hilal Ahmed, who were investigating the massacre of foreign climbers.
The incident took place in Chilas city, the headquarters of district Diamer of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), where terrorists ambushed the security officials.
These officers were investigating the shooting of foreigners at Nanga Parbat base camp that occurred on June 30. Police said that the officials were attacked when they were going to Deputy Commissioner House in Chilas to attend a meeting.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had issued a statement acknowledging that their subsidiary group Janood-e-Hafsa conducted this attack to bring international attention towards the drone attacks.
