Situation in Karachi still tense, 3 killed

Law and order is yet a question mark on the part of the government.

KARACHI (Dunya News) There is no check on target killing in the metropolis despite tall claims of the government as three more persons were mercilessly killed in separate incidents occurred in different localities in the metropolis on Wednesday.

The first incident occurred on Abul Hassan Asfhani Road where a man was killed by the firing of unidentified armed men who escaped the site of occurrence after hitting their innocent target.

Another man fall victim to terrorists in the area of Janjal Goth; however both the victims are yet to be identified. Police have shifted bodies to hospital for further legal formalities.

Following mishaps, tension engulfed the city as markets, businesses, shops and fuel stations began shutting down in several areas after the arrest of the former lawmaker was reported on tv news channels.

Public transport and traffic remained sparse on roads.

The All Private School Management Association (APSMA) announced a closure of all private schools in Karachi and students were returned to their homes.

Moreover, a vehicle was torched near Nasir Jump area in Karachi s Korangi locality.

Another vehicle was set on fire near Rabia City in Gulistan-i-Jauhar area of Karachi whereas a truck was set alight near Two-Minute Chowrangi in Karachi s North Karachi area.

Similarly the situation in Sindh s Hyderabad city also tenured tense as markets, shops and schools partially closed down in the city.

Karachi Transort Ittehad president Irsahd Bukhari said that he in consultation with his companions has decided to close public transport in the city due to poor law and order situation in the city.

On the other hand, police have detained eight people allegedly involved in different criminal activities including extortion. Heavy quantity of weapons also has been recovered from their possession.

Security forces have been provided with additional bullets, bullet proof jackets and other inevitable articles for operation in east zone areas, Sohrab Goth and Sachal.

Besides, police have arrested seven persons from Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth and Gulistan e Johar during operation.
Police also envisaged Qudsia Plaza and Shahar Bano Plaza and checked different flats.
