Kayani visits LoC in Azad Kashmir
Army chief met Jawans posted at Nakyal sector and lauded their courage.
MUZAFFARABAD Sept 3 (Dunya News) - Chief of Army Staff General Ashraf Parvez Kayani on Tuesday visited the Line of Control in Azad Kashmir and reviewed the situation there in the wake of Indian violation of LoC.
Security sources said the army chief met with army jawans posted at Azad Kashmir’s Nakyal sector and appreciated their courage and bravery.
Several people have been martyred while dozens of livestock died in the shelling and firing by Indian troops at Nakial Sector over the past four weeks.
Hundreds of families were forced to shift to safer places following continuous violation of line of control (LoC) agreement by Indian troops at Nakial sector.
Majority of the migrants comprising women and children belonged to Tarkandi, Datoot, Topa Mochiyan, Balakot, and Dabsi areas.
Meanwhile, around 128 families comprising 510 people have taken refuge at four temporary camps at Nakial. The affectees demanded the government to announce special aid packages for them.
