11 killed, 24 injured in Karachi blast
At least 11 people were killed and 24 others wounded in a blast near Bazinjo Chowk in Lyari.
KARACHI Dunya News) – A powerful blast near Bazinjo Chowk in Lyari on early Wednesday morning near a football ground killed 11 people and injured 24 others.
Police sources informed that the bomb, which was attached to a motorcycle, exploded near the vehicle of provincial minister, Javed Naghori, who was leaving after witnessing a late night soccer match between two local teams in the Lyari.
Naghori escaped unharmed in the blast. According to police, many of the dead and wounded were young boys standing near the soccer field.
According to bomb disposal squad, five kilogram explosive material was used in the blast. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Karachi. According to hospital sources, condition of the three injured is stated to be critical.
