Flash floods wreak havoc in Peshawar

Flood water entered residential areas in several parts of Peshawar on Friday.

 

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Flash flood triggered by torrential rains wreaked havoc in Peshawar and its adjoining areas on Friday, forcing resident in these areas to leave their homes as flood water entered their houses.

 

Flood water from canals in Bara region of Khyber Agency entered Peshawar, damaging dozens of houses in Hayatabad, Nasir Bagh, Charsadda Road and Warsak Road. Two kids were also reported drowned in Budni area.

 

Rescue operations are underway at Budni Nullah on the outskirts of Peshawar which inundated many adjacent low-lying areas.

 

Talking to Dunya News, Commissioner Peshawar, Sahibzada Anees informed that rescue operation in Budni area is underway and the water level is falling.

 

Army on the request of the KPK government, have provided four motor boats for evacuating stranded people along Budni Nullah.
