Quetta: Suicide bomber shot dead by residents of Hazara Town
A terror bid was foiled Saturday when a suicide bomber was killed by residents of Hazara Town.
QUETTA (Dunya News) – The residents of Hazara Town noticed a mysterious man entering the locality and tried to stop him.
The residents opened fire at him when the man instead of stopping tried to run away from the scene.
The man was killed when some residents of the area opened fire at him and one of the bullets hit his head.
Bomb disposal squad reached on receiving information and detonated the suicide jacket and also recovered a hand grenade.
According to police sources, the suicide jacket contained eight to ten kilograms of explosive material.
Police later shifted the body of the suspected suicide bomber to the CMH hospital and were investigating the incident.
Hazara community has been the target of terrorists and target killers in the past.
On July 22 unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle at Qandhari Bazaar area of Quetta city, killing two people from the Shia Hazara community, police said.
According to officials, unknown gunmen opened fire on a taxi on Shahrah-e-Iqbal. Two passengers in the taxi were killed on the spot.
This was third incident of target killing since holy month of Ramadhan and 10 people have been killed in sectarian violence so far.
