Govt didnt defend NRO to avoid conflict: Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said the government decided not to defend National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to avoid conflict and left it for the court to decide. Zardari said he is facing challenges similar to the challenges faced by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.Talking to journalists from Hyderabad in President House, Zardari maintained that he respects courts decision, adding that he wants to promote politics of reconciliation. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto faced many challenges throughout their lives, now I am facing challenges like them. He said some elements are trying to make Pakistan similar to Afghanistan and vowed to foil all such efforts. The government is committed to fight terrorism with full force, he added.
