John Kerry telephones Nawaz Sharif
John Kerry will arrive in Islamabad later this month for crucial talks with the new leadership.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - US Secretary of State John Kerry held telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday and discussed issues of mutual interest.
During the call, John Kerry reaffirmed the importance of Pak-US relations for enduring peace and stability in the region.
He reassured that the US Administration remained steadfast in supporting the new democratic government in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Nawaz also reiterated his government’s resolve to further consolidate and strengthen relations with the US on the basis of mutual trust and mutual respect.
The Prime Minister underscored the need to strengthen the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries. He emphasized upon the importance of regular high level exchanges between the two sides in order to build on mutual interests and shared goals.
