Judiciary, lawyers active for rule of law: CJP
Chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry has said lawyers struggle will be remembered forever.
LAHORE (Dunya News):- Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of lawyers who got Supreme Court licenses, said that lawyers offered unforgettable sacrifices for restoration and uplift of judiciary.
“Both judiciary and lawyers are playing their pivotal role for rule of law in the country”, said Chief Justice.
He contended that it is responsibility of lawyers to stand by the citizens for delivery of justice.
"Country will make progress when people become aware their rights are safe and secure. Judiciary is independent and judiciary will achieve its independence only when strong bar associations will stand behind it led by big names of lawyers", said Chief Jusitce.
It is worthy of note that 24 new lawyers hailing from Lahore have achieved licenses.
