Shehla Raza elected deputy speaker Sindh PA
Shehla Raza was elected Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly after re-polling due to ballot paper error.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - PPP nominated candidate Shehla Raza was Thursday elected as Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly by securing 86 votes.
She took oath of her office administered by Speaker Agha Siraj Durranni.
Earlier, re-polling was ordered for the election of deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly after the members pointed out that the name of a candidate had been printed on the ballot papers.
Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in a ruling declared the polls for Deputy Speaker as null and void and ordered re-polling.
The Opposition members called for discussion on the matter.
Agha Siraj Durrani through a ruling ordered re-polling for the slot, adding there was no need to further discuss the issue after the rolling.
