Gillani quits PPP office, takes responsibility for defeat
Says people would come to know after some time that what happened in the polls 2013.
MULTAN: Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani announced his resignation as Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan people’s Party.
Addressing a press conference in Multan on Monday, he said he was resigning over the poor performance of the party in Elections 2013.
“I failed to show positive results and accept PPP’s defeat in the elections,” he said.
Gillani said he would not comment on the election results, adding people would come know after some time that what happened in the polls.
“I also accept the responsibility of performance of the government during the last five years.”
He said he was not quitting the party office under any pressure.
About his kidnapped son, Gillani said there was no information about Ali Haider Gillani as yet.
