PTI can join coalition govt: Qureshi

Vice Chairman PTI has said PTI’s joining a coalition govt cannot be ruled out.

 

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said possibility of his party’s joining any coalition government following May, 11 polls cannot be ruled out.


“PTI joining any coalition government after May, 11 polls cannot be ruled out. Avenues are not shut in politics”, he said this while talking to BBC Thursday.


He held that a crucial meeting of PTI would be held on the next day of polls to decide future strategy in the perspective of electoral pledges made by his party with the people.


To a question about talks with Taliban he said only PTI was talking of negotiations with Taliban for the sake of establishment of peace in Afghanistan.

 

When asked Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was opposed to democracy and was pasting posters against casting of ballots, he said Talibans have their own view point and PTI has its own. No such bar has been imposed by Islam to my view , he added.


Responding to a question about Imran Khan stance on shooting down drones, he said not only PTI was opposed to drone attacks but also opposition prevails on this count in US, UK and west and International Human Rights group has also opposed such attacks.


Replying to a question on Pakistan army chief statement on terrorism he said the entire world is talking of reconciliation and accommodation.

 

PTI does not support terrorism and it will not allow anyone to go for terrorism in the country, he added. PTI will also not allow any one to use Pakistan soil for launching strikes against any other country, he remarked.
