Terrorists trying to hijack elections: Sattar
MQM, ANP and PPP leaders held a joint press conference in Karachi on Wednesday.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The PPP‚ ANP and MQM have vowed to continue their struggle against terrorism and actively participate in the forthcoming general elections.
The leaders termed the elections as a battle between forces which were for and against the Taliban. They expressed apprehensions as to whether elections in the current circumstances could be held in a free and transparent manner.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi‚ a leader of the ANP Shahid Syed asked Ulema to give fatwa against the terrorists.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Farooq Sattar of the MQM said that terrorism is the biggest problem being faced by the nation.
He said that the terrorists want to hijack the elections. He said that all the political forces should condemn terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion‚ the PPP leader Rehman Malik said that the terrorists trying to keep these three parties away from elections.
He said that war against terror would continue till elimination of terrorism. He said that the PPP also remained victim of the terrorists in past.
Speaking on the occasion‚ MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that terrorism has encircled democracy and the country.
He termed the menace of terrorism as major challenge to the security of Pakistan and said that the caretaker government and the Election Commission are doing nothing to prevent terrorist attacks.
Farooq Sattar said that seventy MQM workers have been killed in Karachi and Hyderabad in last forty five days. He added that an open field has been provided to four political parties to run their election campaigns‚ but MQM‚ ANP and
PPP have been compelled to restrict their political activities.
He said that conspiracy has been hatched to get desired results in the elections by creating fear among the public.
