Voting facility cannot be given to overseas Pakistanis, AG tells SC
The apex court disposed of both petitions today.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Attorney General Irfan Qadir told Supreme Court that overseas Pakistanis cannot be facilitated to cast their votes in the upcoming general elections due to paucity of time.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing of case pertaining to overseas Pakistanis right to vote case.
During case proceeding, the Attorney General submitted federal government’s reply, stating that time and resources are required to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.
The facility will be provided in the next general elections, he added.
