Election Commission warns of three-year imprisonment
ECP warns of three-year imprisonment if any candidate violates election rules.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday directed the candidates to avoid seeking votes on the religious‚ sectarian or linguistic grounds.
If any candidate found guilty, he will have to face punishment of three-year imprisonment, ECP warned.
The commission also notified three-year jail term if someone found to be involved in bribing the voters.
The commission has authorized Presiding Officers to sentence anyone found violating the election rules.
