Four personnel martyred as Rangers van hit
Four personnel were martyred while four others injured in a blast on Rangers' van in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News): An apparent grenade attack on a Rangers mobile in the Korangi no. 5 area of Karachi on Wednesday killed two personnel and injured at least four people.
According to initial reports, the blast took place near the Rangers Headquarters situated near a residential area.
Resources said that SSP East said that a grenade had been hurled at a Rangers van parked outside the Rangers office.
At least four Rangers personnel along with two other people were injured as a result of the blast. four of the injured though succumbed to their injuries.
The injured have been moved to the Sindh government hospital.
The rear end of the van was severely damaged in the blast.
The explosion was followed by firing. The Rangers have cordoned off the area.
Police and rescue services have left for the site.
The bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene in emergency.
The spokesman identified the deceased as Irfan, Amanat, Majid and Saifullah.
The blast spread fear among the locals residents as shops and small businesses were reportedly shut after the incident.
Taking notice of the incident, Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan have ordered a quick probe report of the blast.
The caretaker PM, in a statement, said that such cowardly acts would not deter the resolve of the law enforcement agencies of wiping out the terrorism from the society.
