Pakistan wants peaceful Afghanistan: FO

Secretary Foreign Affairs says Pakistan fully supports the peace process in Afghanistan.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Secretary Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that Pakistan fully supports the process of establishing peace in Afghanistan and reiterates resolve to facilitate talks between all stakeholders and Afghan government.
He was talking to journalists outside the Parliament House after the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Defense here on Thursday.
He said that there was a substantial progress in Pak-Afghan ties during recent past and efforts are underway for better relations between two countries.
On the occasion, chairman standing committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed told the media that the officials of Defence Ministry and Foreign Office gave detailed briefing on Pak-Afghan ties after 2014 withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan.
He said that Senate Standing Committee would visit Afghanistan on March 25 where it would discuss bilateral relations, trade and other matters including terrorism. He said that the visit of Afghan Army Chief General Bismillah Khan had laid down a strong foundation of strategic relations between the two sides.
President Hamid Karzai visited almost 20 times to Pakistan and in addition to this he had about 12 meetings with Pakistani top leadership during different international conferences , which tells the story that both countries give so much importance to each other.
