PM summons chief ministers over interim setup
The prime minister has invited all the chief ministers for a business lunch.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf will meet all four chief ministers in Islamabad on Saturday (today) to discuss dissolution of assemblies and future course of action regarding installation of caretaker setup.
Sources suggest that during the meeting a consensus would be reached on dissolving all provincial assemblies and the National Assembly on the same day.
Sources said the prime minister has invited all the chief ministers for a business lunch. Upon which, they added, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has accepted the invitation.
Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani is already in Islamabad and held an important meeting with President Asif Ali zardari regarding the constitutional crisis in Balochistan earlier on Friday.
PM Ashraf is also scheduled to deliver his farewell speech to the nation to apprise them on the government’s five-year performance.
The speech will be broadcasted on national TV and radio at 8 pm on Saturday, said a spokesman of the PM house.
Meanwhile prior to attending the lunch at the PM house, CM Sharif will also attend a high level consultative meeting of his party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in Islamabad. The interim government would be on the agenda at the meeting.
