President dual office: LHC adjourns hearing till March 18
The Lahore High Court has adjourned the hearing of President Zardari dual office case till March 18.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A four-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Umer Atta Bandeyal heard the case on Friday.
Government’s lawyer Wasim Sajjad did not appear before the court and Additional Attorney General presented a written request on behalf of the federation for deferring the case.
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Umer Atta Bandeyal remarked that the court has been hearing the case for the last eight months and it could not be delayed further. He ordered that the federation’s lawyer give final arguments on the next hearing.
Lawyers of the petitioner told the bench that President Zardari is continuing with political activities despite the clear court orders in this regard. Cuttings of news items relevant to the case were also presented before the court.
Hearing of the case was adjourned till March 18.
