ECP seeks remaining Rs 4 billion from Finance Ministry

Chief Election Commissioner called on Finance Minister in Islamabad today.

 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim on Thursday met with Finance Minister Saleem Mandviwalla.

 

The Chief Election Commissioner informed the federal minister that Election Commission has received only 2 billion rupees out of 6 billion.

 

Talking to media after the meeting, Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim said there should be no ambiguity regarding holding of elections on time.

 

He said that Karachi situation will not be a hurdle in process of the general elections and hoped that situation in the city will be improved by then. 

 

The Chief Election Commissioner termed his meeting with the Finance Minister as positive by saying that the Minister assured him that the required funds will be provided soon.
