'Pak army never conducted any drone attack'
ISPR has categorically rejected US paper claim that Pak army carried out drone attack in FATA.
RAWALPINDI (Dunay News) - Pakistan Army has refuted claims made by US paper that it had carried out drone attacks last month in the tribal belt in which nine people were killed including two senior commanders of the Al-Qaeda
Commenting on a news report published in New York Times on March 5, an ISPR spokesman said that such an accusation is distortion of the facts and seems to be aimed at diluting Pakistan’s stance on drone strikes.
He denied Pakistan’s security forces having carried out any operation, including air strikes, in the area on dates mentioned in the news report.
The US paper had claimed that three US officials involved with the drone program had said that the US had not carried out any drone attack in Pakistan tribal areas since January.
The officials had alleged that one or possibly both of the strikes were carried out by the Pakistani military and falsely attributed to the C.I.A. to avoid criticism from the Pakistani public.
