Khoro signs Local Govt Bill 1979 into law
Acting Sindh Governor Nisar Khoro signed the Local Government Bill 1979 into law on Friday.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Local Government Ordinance 1979 stands restored from Karachi to Kashmore after Khoro’s signing.
Earlier, Khoro appointed MQM MPA Syed Sardar Ahmed as Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly.
On Thursday, the Sindh government announced the repeal of Sindh Peoples’ Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012. The move came a few days after the MQM parted ways with the PPP both in the Centre as well as Sindh.
The MQM lodged a strong protest against the SPLGO’s withdrawal and staged a walk-out in the National Assembly.
