11 killed, 12 injured in Orakzai twin blasts

Another blast took place in Hassanzai Dara area of Orakzai agency, killing more seven people.

 

HANGU/PESHAWAR: (Online): Hours after first roadside blast that claimed four lives, another blast took place in Hassanzai Dara area of Orakzai agency on Thursday. Death toll in the two blasts has risen to eleven.

 

According to reports, the blast occurred when a bomb planted roadside ripped through Hassanzai Dara area in Lower Orakzai agency leaving at least four more people dead and other 13 wounded, death toll reached to eight in a single day.

 

The wounded were rushed to the nearby hospital.

 

Officials said improvised explosive device (IED) caused the explosion in Hasan Zai bazaar of the Orakzai Agency, one of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.

 

Political administration said nine people were also injured in first blast. No group claimed the responsibility.

 

Meanwhile, a key militant commander belonging to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) Tariq Afridi group from Darra Adamkhel area was shot dead along with another militant commander in Saam area of Khyber tribal region.

 

Intelligence official sources told that the two militant commanders were shot by an unknown sniper man.

 

No confirmation from the outlawed TTP was available till the filing of this report.
