Ex-president Pervez Musharraf says Army is an organized institution which cant be used unfairly.

While giving an interview to Dunya News program Top Story, he said that some people are trying to scandalize the Army for their vested interests.

Throwing light on Kargil war, he said that it was fought in order to boost the Kashmir cause as some liberation movements like Lashkar e Islam, Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Muhammad had started their struggle with the public support in Kashmir.

Replying a question, he said that Pakistan had to face troubles and trials in different eras of history which bring down the morale of Army and the nation.

“It is regretful to mention that India defeated us in different wars i.e East Pakistan war, Siachene war. When I came to power in order change the status quo, I took bold steps to convince India for dialogue on Kashmir which has become a bone of contention between the two countries for many decades.” said ex- Chief of Army Staff.

He made it clear that all the steps regarding Kargil war were taken in consultation with senior army officers. Moreover, young soldiers were also taken into confidence as they were extremely concerned over Indian Army’s atrocities in Kashmir.

Commenting on General (r ) Shahid Aziz’s book on defence and strategic studies, Musharraf said that the former is an unbalanced personality who has nothing do with realistic approach.

“It is very strange that a senior army officer intentionally and deliberately tried to unmask very secret aspects of strategy which must be kept secret at every cost”, advocated Musharraf.
