QUETTA: Some 22 members of Balochistan Assembly submitted no-confidence motion against Speaker Aslam Bhotani on Wednesday.

Deputy Speaker Mati Ullah Agha confirmed that he had received the no confidence motion. An MPA from JUI-F Ain Ullah Shamas presented the motion in assembly secretariat.

The house would proceed on the motion on 26 December.

The plea was taken in the motion that Aslam Bhotani is working against his oath, which he took as Speaker of the provincial assembly and his attitude towards his job is beyond the constitution, so he may be removed from prestigious slot.

Aslam Bhotaniwho is out of the country these days said that he would not make any compromise to save his chair. He said that he has stuck with his previous stand that Raisani’s government has become illegal after the verdict of Supreme Court.

It is pertinent to mention here that Aslam Bhotani had refused twice to chair the assembly session after the decision of Supreme Court against Chief Minister Aslam Raisani.

He took the view point that the legal authenticity of the provincial government was abolished after the SC verdict that came on 12 October on the deteriorating law and order situation in Baluchistan.
