US stand beside Pak Army and nation in terror war: Clinton

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Wednesday. She said Pakistan was not alone in war on terror as the United States stood by Pak Army and the nation. She vowed to defeat terrorists at any cost. Foreign Minster Qureshi said Pakistan had entered into critical and final phase of war against terrorism.Addressing a joint press conference after meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad, Hillary Clinton said Pakistan has entered in a critical situation, let me tell you, these attacks on innocent people are cowardly, they are not courageous, these are cowardly. She underlined the importance of operation in South Waziristan for Pakistan. It is very important for Pakistan. Pakistan and United States shared challenges, the war on terror is not only Pakistans war, its our war too, we will support you in this war. Clinton said US wanted to open a new chapter in Pak-US relations. The strategic ties between the two countries should move forward. She vowed to fully support Pakistan to cope with energy crisis. Pakistan is facing severe energy crisis, there is electricity shortfall in the country, and hundreds of small industrial units have closed doors. This halts economic progress. We will support Pakistan to overcome energy crisis. Clinton told that during the talks with Foreign Minister Qureshi, concerns over each others policies were addressed. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and US had reservations on each others policies and needed to be addressed. He said that Pakistan wants to build a relation with the US based on trust, mutual interest and shared objectives. We need to move our relations beyond just war against terrorism. He maintained that the US wanted to have direct relations with the public. Pakistan has entered into a critical phase in the war against terrorism and Pakistan is committed to fight against these terrorists, he added.
