OGRA decides to increase natural gas price

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decided to increase the price of natural gas on Saturday, Dunya News reported.

 

OGRA conducted separate proceedings regarding increase in gas price in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

 

As per details, OGRA has approved hike in gas tariff for Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGPL) by Rs 31.12/MMBtu and Rs 28.28 for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

 

Following increase in the price, SNGPL consumers will face hike of Rs 9.87 and gas price for SSGC consumers will go up by Rs 6.14 per MMBtu.

 

A summary has also been forwarded to the Petroleum Ministry for approval, sources said.

 

The new prices will be applicable from January 1, 2013.
