Journalists press for release of victim funds
Journalists Tuesday walked out from National Assembly due to non-release of victim funds.
The journalists present in the NA session claimed that former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani announced to release funds for the heirs of deceased journalists, however, since the announcement nothing has been done so far in this regard.
Moreover, they also expressed their annoyance over the disinformation given by Federal Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira.
Later on, State Minister for Information Sumsam Bukhari and MNA Kashmala Tariq convince the journalists to take back their decision of walk out and assured them for early release of funds.
Sumsam Bukhari also convened the high level meeting to remove the grievances of the journalists on priority bases.
