A bomb blast near the Peshawar High Court (PHC) jolted the city once again on Friday killing at least 46 people and injuring 96 others, reported Dunya News. The death toll might rise as several of the injured are said to be in critical condition at hospitals. The blast took place in Khyber Bazaar which is the most populated area in Peshawar. Dunya News Correspondent told that the explosive was planted inside the car. According to the bomb squad officials some 100 to 150kg explosives was used in the blast. The bazaar is located near Peshawar High Court (PHC) and the NWFP Assembly. The rescuers have rushed to the spot while the law enforcing agencies have surrounded the area. Sound of the blast was heard in the surrounding areas and the windowpanes shattered after the blast. Emergency has been imposed in all the city hospitals while injured are being shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. NWFP Information Minister, who reached the spot, told Dunya News that the terrorists were doing such activities to distract the Waziristan operation. Terrorists are carrying out such activities in the wake of their defeat, he maintained. Terrorists want to scare us but they cannot deter us. We will not get discouraged, the minister said. Separately, Senior Minister from NWFP Bashir Balour strongly condemned the blast. Terrorists are killing our kids because of America which is not correct. We will not bow before them, he asserted.
