Rehman Malik warns nation of possible terrorist attacks
Terrorists might carry out more attacks in the coming days while Islamabad blast is not intelligences failure, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has warned the nation quoting some imprisoned Taliban leaders; Whereas, US ambassador in Pakistan Anne W. Patterson has termed attack on UN office as attack on Pakistani society. Talking to media after visiting the blast site in Islamabad, Malik said that the attack on UN World Food Program office was an attempt to destabilize the country. The minister revealed that suicide attacker was wearing FC uniform and entered the UN office by taking permission to go to toilet. He said 7 to 8 kg of explosives were used in the attack. Malik told that an investigation committee had been constituted consisting of DIG Islamabad, FIA and ISI officers. He said that intelligence organizations had already informed that suicide attacker could enter Islamabad either wearing a uniform or in a government vehicle. The interior minister told that all the embassies had been sent letters to shift to the diplomatic enclave. Terrorists are sending messages seeking apology yet we have made it clear that no talks will take place under they surrender before us, Malik told. On the other hand, a statement issued from the US embassy in Pakistan condemned the blast. The US ambassador said that UN World Food Program was providing food to around 2 million IDPs affected by military operation in Swat. Ms Anne Patterson also consoled the families of the dead and injured in the blast.
