Khairpur: Cracker blasts spread panic in city

At least six crackers exploded in Khairpur while a school bus set ablaze in Sukkur.

Panic spread in Khairpur after six cracker blasts and aerial firing in different parts of the city. According to police cracker blasts were carried out to make successful the Awami Tehrik strike against LG ordinance.No one was hurt by the explosions and firing, police said. Security in Sukkur has also beefed up in anticipation of strike call by nationalist parties. However, some unidentified persons set on fire a school bus parked near Degree College.Fire brigade and rescue teams reached the sight and brought the fire under control. According to SSP Sukkur, police check posts have been set up at all sensitive places in the district.
