The US, responding sternly to a recent statement of former President Pervez Musharraf, said that it was examining his allegations that US arms were being used against India. US State Department spokesperson Ayan Kelly in a press briefing told that it was the policy of the US that its arms should not be used against India. He said that the purpose and use of the arms given to Pakistan and other countries are determined with mutual consent. In the interview, Musharraf said that Pakistan Army used all available resources at every front. On the other hand, Minister of State for External Affairs of India Shashi Tharoor said that he was not amazed by the statement of former president of Musharraf; the statement proved the Indian claim. Talking to Dunya News, senior analyst Hassan Askari said that it was difficult to keep a constant check on use of arms. Pakistan and India used US provided arms against each other in 1965 war, he said. US allegations were baseless; however, if India used this statement as propaganda against Pakistan, its consequences on Pakistan would be negative.
