SC resumes hearing of contempt law case

A Five-member SC bench resumed the hearing of petitions filed against contempt law on Saturday.

The five-member bench of Supreme Court (SC), comprising Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Tassadduq Hussain Jilani resume the hearing of more than 18 identical petitions challenging the Contempt of Court Act 2012.During the previous SC declared that during parliamentary debate, the constitutional clauses were not kept in mind. He said it is not known that why this law has been promulgated.
