Country faces more than 8000MW power shortfall

Power shortfall in the country has crossed 8000MW while people are protesting in several cities.

Owing to the low supply of fuel and gas to power plants, the electricity shortfall has reached to more than 8000 MW first time in the country.According to the sources, more than ten power generation plants have been closed due to suspension of oil and gas supply.The sources added that the transmission and distribution system of electricity has reached at critical position.The electric supply to most parts of the country would have to be suspended to balance the load otherwise there may occur a complete breakdown.
