Communication Minister Arbab Alamgir took notice of the flyover suicide incident in Multan.
According to details, National High Authority (NHA) has paid compensation of Rs 10 million to heirs of the victim who committed suicide by jumping off a flyover near Kumharanwala chowk on Monday (yesterday).National Highway Authority (NHA) demolished Muhammad Amjads house to build a flyover several years ago and it wassupposed to pay compensation for land acquired for the project.Amjad was disheartened and angered after he made several requests to collect compensation money. On Monday, hecommitted suicide by jumping from the same flyover because no compensation was paid to him.Federal Minister for Communication Arbab Alamgir took notice of the incident and summoned a report from the highway authorities.According to DCO Multan Akhtar Zaman, the investigation was underway and those responsible for the incident would be brought to justice.The family of Mohammad Amjad on Monday alleged that the officials concerned had been delaying the payment because they wanted bribe.
